That is why I was ecstatic to learn that FuRyu and ATLUS USA were publishing a remastered version of the game for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC called The Caligula Effect: Overdose. Initially, I felt the game was simply too ambitious for the Vita system to handle. Promised as the “Persona Killer,” the PS Vita version of The Caligula Effect was a mess, with constant FPS drops, random crashes, and a sub-par performance overall. Fresh off the adrenaline high of completing Persona 4: Golden on that system, I was hungry for another similar (at the very least thematically) game of the genre, and picked up The Caligula Effect after reading a few reviews. ![]() ![]() ![]() Initially released in May 2017, I stumbled upon The Caligula Effect by accident when I was browsing for a new game for my PS Vita.
